Obeticholic Acid
OB-COLLAR 5 contains Obeticholic Acid 5 mg, a next-generation bile acid analog used primarily in the treatment of primary biliary cholangitis (PBC)—a chronic autoimmune liver disease that slowly destroys bile ducts in the liver. By activating specific receptors involved in bile acid regulation, OB-COLLAR 5 helps reduce liver inflammation, prevent fibrosis (scarring), and maintain proper liver function.
Obeticholic Acid is a semi-synthetic bile acid that mimics the action of the body’s natural bile acids but with enhanced potency. It acts on the farnesoid X receptor (FXR)—a key regulator of bile acid, glucose, and lipid metabolism.
OB-COLLAR 5 is typically used when ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) alone is not effective or is not tolerated. It represents a major advancement in managing cholestatic liver diseases and slowing disease progression.
Uses of OB-COLLAR 5

-
-
